Trace started “Todor Kableshkov” Blvd. road extension in Sofia

“Trace Group Hold” started the extension construction works on “Todor Kableshkov” Blvd. (in the section between “Bulgaria” Blvd. and “Lui Ayer” Str.) in Sofia on 31.05.2020. This is a key project to relieve the traffic in the southern districts in the capital.

In front of journalists, Sofia Mayer Yordanka Fandakova, said: "This is one of the most important projects, part of the inner-city ring and that is why it is so important. By this project and other sections, we execute - inner rings, as well as the expansion and completion of Sofia Ring Road, we are working to reduce the city traffic." The mayor stressed that this is one of the most important projects in her plan for Sofia development after Sofia Metro project implementation.

The construction process is divided into seven stages. The first stage starts from Mall Bulgaria and goes to “Boyanski Vodopad” Str. During the construction of the southern lane of the boulevard, the traffic in both directions on the northern lane will not be changed or restricted. Only in the fourth stage of the project there will be a change in the bus stops location and not to hinder the construction process.

The construction of water supply system, electricity and gas supply networks, telecommunications are up to be executed. The boulevard extension is designed on three levels so that there is shared traffic between cars, cyclists and pedestrians. A bike lane will be built between the road lane and the sidewalk. A tram route is also planned.

The project first stage is expected to be finished until the beginning of August.
